"About Me: My path to fishing charter"
Hello everyone, I'm Susanne, and fishing has been my absolute passion since I was a child. My dad used to take me fishing on lakes and rivers when I was a little girl.
In the summer, I often went cycling to the lake to fish for non-predatory fish, and in the fall, I devoted myself to predatory fish in the river.
My first deep-sea fishing trip was in the North Sea, where I fished for mackerel. At first, I was a little jealous that my dad had five hooks on his rig and I only had three, but when I, as a 14-year-old, hooked three mackerel at once, I was very happy.

About seven years ago, my job took me to Papua New Guinea. This incredible country has a fantastic underwater world. There, I bought my first boat and caught my first big fish by trolling. I spent almost every weekend on the water and caught many Spanish mackerel, tuna, and even my first marlin.
After about a year, I went on a week-long trip to a reef with a local operator. While I was still trying to catch fish with my beloved trolling, my fellow travelers were already busy with popping and jigging, which I was unfamiliar with. I stood there, 100 nautical miles from land, with no idea what to do.
Although I was able to borrow the equipment, my fellow travelers kept catching fish, while my reel remained silent. I couldn't cast far enough, had no rhythm when popping or jigging, and even when I hooked a big fish, the knot wouldn't hold.
Nevertheless, I was fascinated by this style of fishing.
The incredible force with which a giant trevally eats a popper and the smoking reel when a dog tooth tuna disappears into the depths with a jig simply captivated me. Shortly after, I booked another trip, this time alone.
I'm still grateful for everything I learned in that one week. On the first evening, we prepared the gear together, and I learned new knots.
The next day, my guide cast the popper for me. He stopped the boat and said he couldn't get any closer, but that there were GTs back there. He cast for me and handed me the rod. Less than five seconds later, I had my first GT—what power! That was it...

With each day, my casts became longer, and we had a lot of fun. Jigging also improved, and I had my first successes.
After fishing in Papua New Guinea almost every weekend and even catching a few of the infamous black bass, I wanted to explore another part of the world with a fishing rod.
After some research, I decided on the Maldives. There, I was able to join a guided group. The group was very experienced, and the guys enjoyed sharing their knowledge with me. With a few simple adjustments, I was suddenly able to cast 10 meters further—and this gave me a much higher chance of catching something.
I learned how to tie the FG knot on the boat, even in rough seas, and most importantly, I saw that there are more fishing enthusiasts like me who spend their holidays fishing.
And that's how I found my partner in the Maldives... When I was planning a fishing holiday in the Maldives from Cambodia, I realized I needed new jigs. Firstly, the ones I wanted weren't available in Cambodia, and secondly, the weight would have exceeded my baggage allowance. So I quickly contacted a few fishing shops, and then Hassan and his team went shopping for me and brought the bait to the airport. The beginning of our fishing charter...
And so the idea was born to create a fishing charter tailored to the needs of anglers.

Hassan and his team will take care of you in the Maldives, with an experienced captain and, depending on the trip, a helpful deckhand, a passionate marine biologist, or a gifted spearfisherman. Of course, I also occasionally accompany a trip, for example, when a German-speaking guide is needed.
